Blooded Warriors use their stamina to achieve tasks far beyond their normal abilities. The Blooded Warrior is meant to offer support to other classes and acts as a bardlike character. Blooded Warrior[edit]

Making a Blooded Warrior[edit]

Abilities: Constitution is a must. Charisma, Intelligence, and Wisdom are very important for other Bloodburns later on.

Races: Blooded Warriors tend to be Humans or Dwarfs. Any race with a preference of Fighter may select Blooded Warrior instead.

Alignment: "Any"

Starting Gold: 2d10 ×10 gp (110 gp).

Starting Age: "Simple".

Class Features[edit]

All of the following are class features of the Blooded Warrior.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: A Blooded Warrior is proficient with all simple and martial weapons and with all armor (heavy, medium, and light) and shields (including tower shields).

Bloodburns(Su): Once per round as a standard action a Blooded Warrior may use a Bloodburn. When a Blooded Warrior uses a Bloodburn they take nonlethal damage based on the level of the Bloodburn as referenced in the table below (Table: Bloodburn Damage), this damage cannot be healed except naturally. Their abilities are based on their HD and Constitution modifier. The save DC against a Blooded Warrior's Bloodburns are DC (10+ 1/2 HD +Con modifier) Fortitude saves to negate (This save replaces the type and DC of any saves of a Blooded Warrior's Bloodburns with Spell and Psionic Effects). A Blooded Warrior may augment their Bloodburns with Permutations listed below.

Blooded Warriors may use Bloodburns from the following list:

0— +3 moral bonus to one skill check or save for one round/ HD + Con modifier

1st— +2 moral bonus to one physical ability score for one round/ HD + Con modifier

2nd— +2 moral bonus to one mental ability score for one round/ HD + Con modifier, One ally with in 5 ft per 3 HD gets +3 moral bonus to one skill check or save for 1 round/ HD + Con modifier

3rd— One ally with in 5 ft per 3 HD gets +2 moral bonus to one physical ability score for one round/ HD + Con modifier, One enemy with in 5 ft per 3 HD gets -3 moral penalty to one skill check or save for one round/ HD+ Con Modifier

4th— One ally with in 5 ft per 3 HD gets +2 moral bonus to one mental ability score for one round/ HD + Con modifier, One enemy with in 5 ft per 3 HD gets -2 moral penalty to one physical ability score for one round/ HD + Con modifier (minimum 1), 1st level Psionic power effect, 0 level Arcane spell effect

5th— One enemy with in 5 ft per 3 HD gets -2 moral penalty to one mental ability score for one round/ HD + Con modifier (minimum 1), 2nd level Psionic power effect, 1st level Arcane spell effect, 0 Level Divine Spell effect

6th— 3rd level Psionic power effect, 2nd level Arcane spell effect, 1st level Divine spell effect

7th— 4th level Psionic power effect, 3th level Arcane spell effect, 2nd level Divine spell effect

8th— 5th level Psionic power effect, 4th level Arcane spell effect, 3rd level Divine spell effect

9th— 6th level Psionic power effect, 5th level Arcane spell effect, 4th level Divine spell effect

Permutations(Ex):

May increase the moral bonus or penalty bestowed by a Bloodburn by 1 by increasing the Bloodburn level by 1.

May use a Bloodburn as a swift action by increasing Bloodburn level by 1.

May change round to minute duration by increasing Bloodburn level by 1.

May change "One" enemy or ally to "Each" by increasing Bloodburn level by 1.

May extend range of a Bloodburn by 5 ft per 3 HD by increasing its level by 1.

Diehard, Grimoire(Ex): Blooded Warrior's at 1st level gain Diehard, Grimoire as a bonus feat even if he does not meet perquisites. If a Blooded Warrior already has this feat, or has another Diehard Variant they may replace either with a fighter bonus feat instead.

Codex Toughness(Ex): Blooded Warrior's at 5th level gain Codex Toughness as a bonus feat. If a Blooded Warrior has already has this feat upon reaching 5th level they instead gain +2 Constitution instead.

Spell and Psionic Effects(Sp)/(Ps): Spells and power effects from a Blooded Warrior's Bloodburns must be learned and are Spell-like or Psi-like abilities. To use a Spell-like or Psi-like Bloodburn, a Blood Warrior must have a corresponding mental ability score equal to at least 10 + level of the effect of the ability.

Psionic power effects learned must be from the SRD:Psychometabolism Discipline or SRD:Clairsentience Disciplines and require a Charisma. Damage to self in excess of power point cost may be used for additional effects as power points.

Arcane spell effects learned must be from the SRD:Abjuration or SRD:Divination Schools of magic and require Intelligence.

Divine spell effects learned may be from any divine classes list and require Wisdom.

Blood Of Stone(Ex): Blooded Warrior's at 10th level gain Blood of Stone as a bonus feat. If a Blooded Warrior has already has this feat upon reaching 10th level they instead gain the ability to apply that effect to each ally that is within the Blooded Warrior's natural reach once per round. All damage a Blooded Warrior prevents an ally from taking this way is dealt to the Blooded Warrior instead.

Bloody Toughness(Ex): Blooded Warrior's at 15th level gain Bloody Toughness as a bonus feat. If a Blooded Warrior has already has this feat upon reaching 15th level they instead gain the ability to once per round to turn the healing received into a non-Spell-like or non-Psi-like Bloodburn of a level equal to the healing that would be received.

Self Sacrifice(Ex): Upon reaching 20th level a Blooded gains one of the following effects:

"Not As I Still Stand": If an ally or allies within 30 ft of a Blooded Warrior would die for any reason instead all non-lethal damage the Blooded Warrior has taken from Bloodburns become lethal vile damage. In addition what ever damage that ally or allies would have taken instead are dealt to the Blooded Warrior.

Finally all negative levels, ability damage, ability burn, and damage are then transferred from all allies within 30 ft to the Blooded Warrior. This is not an optional ability.

If a Blooded Warrior is unconscious or restrained when the ally would die the Blooded Warrior becomes possessed by the spirit of their compassion possesses them and enables them to bypass any means of imprisonment to accomplish this task. The Blooded Warrior is unimpeded by any conditions or afflictions that would impend this ability.

"Not As I Draw Breath": A Blooded Warrior may make a Bloodburned Vow. Should the perimeters of this Vow become endangered. (Such as "I shall not let you continue you travels in this direction.") You may use a number Bloodburns as free actions each round equal to half your Constitution modifier.

However should you fail to uphold your vow you take 2d10 vile damage per HD and all non-lethal damage you have taken from Bloodburns become lethal vile damage. You no longer can make vows until you atone as per the atonement spell and have healed yourself of all vile damage.

Campaign Information[edit]

Playing a Blooded Warrior[edit]

Religion: Blooded Warriors revere sacrifice. Good Blooded Warriors respect self-sacrifice. Evil ones not so much. Blooded Warriors who are Neutral tend to be more pragmatic.

Other Classes: Blooded Warriors can bolster fighters, aid the concentration checks of casters, buff the party for saves against an enemies abilities by protecting their minds or bodies.

Combat: Blooded Warriors buff their companions and offer support in combat. They can defend the mage or support the Barbarian equally well. A Blooded Warrior uses his flexibility to support the weaknesses of other while exacerbation the weaknesses of their foes.

Advancement: Past 20th level Blood Warriors tend to choose prestige classes that continue the build that supports the party the best.

Blooded Warriors in the World[edit]

Blooded Warriors are the glue that binds the party together. They are not the face, head, or the brawn but the heart.

Daily Life: Blooded Warriors find great solace in comradeship and community. A Blooded Warrior may work at a local church, as a town guard, or a mercenary.

Organizations: Blooded Warriors often become bodyguards and soldiers.

NPC Reactions: Blacksmiths, Soldiers, and others who know the strength of support, apprenticeship, and fellowship may find common ground with Blooded warriors. Mages, Scholars, and others who find solace in solitude may only see the Blooded Warrior as a tool or pawn.

Blooded Warrior Lore[edit]

Characters with ranks in Knowledge(Local) or Knowledge(Nobility) can research Blooded Warriors to learn more about them. When a character makes a skill check, read or paraphrase the following, including information from lower DCs.

Blooded Warriors in the Game[edit]

NPC Blooded Warriors will take great pains to aid and bolster their companions endeavors as long as they do not clash with their ideals. PC Blooded Warriors may seek to use the fluidity of the class to role-play a diversified character with a extensive portfolio. Either way the most important thing is how a Blooded Warrior seeks to utilize their abilities and how the apply themselves.

Adaptation: A Bardic or Paladin-like version of a Blooded Warrior would not be unheard of.

Sample Encounter: Alongside a character with a disability or an ambition would be best for a Blooded Warrior.
