This small pistol has a short barrel and a walnut stock. The gun is stained with a dark varnish and bluing on the steel. Queerly, there are parts of the pistol that are welded shut, preventing it from ever being properly loaded. It is otherwise well decorated and finely made.
It is through hateful magic that the gun works at all. This single-shot firearm has parts welded shut, preventing it from being loaded properly. However, at the break of dawn each day, the gun can be found to be loaded with a single shot, allowing it to be fired once per day.
Upon firing the weapon as a standard action, it strikes its target unerringly, much like a magic missile, so long as the target is within a range of 30 feet. Concealment and miss changes still apply normally. If a creature outside the range is targeted, the weapon simply doesn't fire. The weapon deals 2d6+2 magic piercing damage with no attack roll plus an additional 4d6+4 damage as if struck by a critical hit (fortification applies to this additional damage). After firing, the weapon automatically drops out of the wielder's hand.
If the weapon is brought within 30 feet of any statesman, office holder, diplomat or ambassador, the possessor is compelled to draw and fire the weapon upon them. A successful Will saving throw (DC 20) renders the possessor immune to this quirk for 24 hours.
