Crown of Tentacles[edit]

This graft replaces hair on the top of head. First, any hair is shaved off. Then a careful application of doppelgänger mimiplasm is massaged gently into the scalp, dissolving any remaining hair and preventing further hair growth while prepping the scalp for the next step. Before the mimiplasm has a chance to dry, hollow-tipped acupuncture needles (dipped in a dark-bluish mixture of alchemically treated pseudonatural octopus ink and blood) are stuck into the scalp, dealing 1 point of Constitution burn to the patient. After 10 minutes, the needles are removed and the scalp is given another coat of mimiplasm mixed with a potion of cure minor wounds. The magical healing stimulates the growth of the tentacles, wherein they grow to their full length over the next full day.

A crown of tentacles tends to writhe around on its own accord most of the time, but can be used to hold small items, aid in certain skills or make feral strike attacks (though covering them with a helmet or tight wrapping often prevents this). Their Strength is treated as 1/2 that of the grafted creature. They grant a +2 circumstance bonus (as by a masterwork tool) for Climb, Escape Artist and Swim skill checks. Unfortunately, they give a –2 penalty on Disguise when attempting any disguise that doesn't feature tentacles.
