This spell is designed to work with the Z's Injury Levels variant rule, and uses mechanics detailed therein.

5e Spell Crumbling Curse
2nd-level enchantment
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: 60ft
Components: V
Duration: Concentration, Up to 1 minute
Casters: Bard, Cleric, Paladin, Ranger, Warlock

You point at a creature, forcing it to make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, you curse it to buckle under the weight of its increasing suffering. While the creature is under the effects of this spell, it cannot regain hit points.

When the creature's Injury Level changes to a more severe level (For example, from Bloodied to Wounded), the creature must make another Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, it suffers Psychic damage based on its new Injury Level:

  • If the creature is changing from Uninjured to Bloodied, it suffers 2d6 points of Psychic damage.
  • If the creature is changing from Bloodied to Wounded, it suffers 4d6 points of Psychic damage.
  • If the creature is changing from Wounded to Critical, it suffers 6d6 points of Psychic damage.

On a successful save, the creature suffers half as much damage.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, you can target one additional creature for each slot level above 1st. The creatures must be within 30 feet of each other when you target them.
