Dark Theorem Chalkboard[edit]

Sitting somewhere, sometimes in an old study in an abandoned mansion, the alchemy laboratory basement of a troubled noblewoman, or the lecture hall of a college once run by a cult, this slate chalkboard holds dire knowledge, pertinent to an epiphany of mathematical understanding, but at a cost.

Prerequisite[edit]

Locating the chalkboard is only part of the problem. Few people know of it, and it is usually located by accident. Paying off locals with bribes and paying for transportation, tolls and other fees takes some effort for those seeking it out on purpose.

Location Activation[edit]

To benefit from the dark theorem chalkboard, a creature must either make an Intelligence check or a Knowledge (Math & Physics) check (DC 22), of which they may "take 20" looking over the symbols, sketches and notations upon the chalkboard.

However, upon successfully doing so, the creature realizes a dark and terrible mathematical proof. They gain a permanent +2 bonus on Knowledge (Math & Physics) checks (and may use it untrained), and additionally gain 1 Dark Insight. So long as the creature maintains at least 1 Dark Insight, they maintain the +2 bonus.

Ability Value[edit]

1,250 gp.
