|Aura:||Strong transmutation (DC 24)|
Wrought from the finest dragonhide, rows of notched bone spines span the back of this heavy cloak. A dragon mantle grants its wearer the powers and defenses of a dragon, conferring a +5 enhancement bonus to the wearer's natural armor, a spell resistance of 30, as well as bestowing the immunities of the type of dragon that the cloak was fashioned from. Furthermore, the dragon mantle confers the dragon bane quality to any weapons the wearer wields (including natural weapons), as well as the elemental burst quality corresponding to the type of energy immunity the cloak grants (flaming burst for fire, icyburst for cold, acidic burst for acid, etcetera).
Once per day, the wearer of a dragon mantle may transform into a half-dragon version of itself, and of the appropriate dragon type. The mantle stretches to cover its wearer, seamlessly covering skin with scale, and extending into a pair of dragon wings that allow the wearer to fly at a speed equal to twice its land speed. This effect functions like the shapechange spell and lasts up to 20 minutes, but the base creature does not lose the ability to use its own supernatural abilities. When in this half-dragon transformation, the wearer's breath weapon deals 1d8 points of damage per character level and has a cooldown of 1d4+1 rounds.
