Once he found it, the treasure hunter would be able to finally bring back his fallen love.
If the wearer of this Fodinian Diamond ring dies, they are protected by gentle repose. They are additionally protected from mundane animals and vermin for the duration of the gentle repose. This ring has no effect on the already dead.
Additionally, if the corpse of the wearer is brought to a place where the veil between life and death are thin (such as a Death's Door or a rift between the material and an outer plane) for 24 hours, they are brought back to life as raise dead without the level or Con loss. They are under the effect of adapt body for 1 minute after resurrection, so environmental conditions won't immediately kill them in less fortunate circumstances, but does nothing to remove them from situations they cannot escape, such as being buried in a coffin.
Finally, there is a minor curse on the ring. Anyone who learns of the ring thinks it can be used to restore those already dead to life unless they have strong evidence to the contrary.
