Furijah[edit]

A bestial race of warriors, furijah are the feared warriors of the mountains. A typical furijah stands a little over six feet tall and weighs more than two-hundred pounds, with little sexual dimorphism in size between male and female. Their bodies are mostly covered in thick fur, going from brown, to red and even blue in color. Their face is like that of a tiger, except flatter. Males of the species have a large mane. Finally one of the most noticeable traits of the furijah is their large spiked tail, not unlike that of a manticore. It said that the furijah are an artificial race made from the manticores to protect temples on high summit, but long since forgot their purposes.

The furijjah live in tribes within small semi-sedentary villages of hunter-gatherers. Their society is very callous to those it deems weak, and most members of the tribes are expected to fight. While some more advanced tribes reject that notion, it is still a notable component of their cultural heritage. It is rare for a scholar to emerge from furijjah society, where their input aren't exactly valued. They hold the profession of soldiers, warrior, blacksmith and hunters in a high-regards. They prefer to live at high-altitude where the cold hardly bothers them and other races cannot really bother them. Despite their warrior-like attitude, they are not overly aggressive, and mostly fights skirmishes for territorial claims. Mostly the furijah will fight the creatures that threaten their home, and wear their skin as trophies.

Racial Traits[edit]

  • +2 Strength, +2 Wisdom, -2 Charisma: Strong and instinctive, furijah are feared warriors of the mountain. However their kind isn't the most socially agile, both because of their might-oriented culture and the relative isolation of their tribes.
  • Humanoid (Furijah)
  • Medium: As a Medium creature, a furijah has no special bonuses or penalties due to its size.
  • Furijah base land speed is 30 feet.
  • Low-Light Vision: A furijah can see twice as far as a human in starlight, moonlight, torchlight, and similar conditions of poor illumination. She retains the ability to distinguish color and detail under these conditions.
  • Environmental Adaptation (Ex): All furijah always counts as adapted to high altitude environment, and their fur also counts as a cold weather outfit (which stack with a worn cold weather outfit).
  • Spiked Tail (Ex): All furijah have a spiked tail, much like a manticore. They make use of their tail as part of an unarmed strike, dealing bludgeoning and piercing damage instead of only bludgeoning damage. Additionally they may launch spikes from their tail, and be able to fire a single spike plus 1 per point of Constitution bonus of the furijah. Each spike requires a ranged attack, has a range of 20 feet and deals 1d6 damage. A ranged attack with the spikes counts as a thrown weapon attack for all intent and purpose. The spikes regenerates at the rate of 1 per hour.
  • Warrior Culture (Ex): The furijah have an intense warrior culture, where weaklings are left in the dust. A furijah choose a single martial weapon to be proficient or gain Improved Unarmed Strike as a bonus feat. If they are proficient with all martial weapon they may either gain proficiency with an exotic weapon or gain Improved Unarmed Strike as a bonus feat.

Instead of focusing on raw martial might, those furijah become bodyguards and protectors of sacred places. Furijah with this alternate racial feature gain Bodyguard as a bonus feat even if they do not meet the prerequisites. This alternate racial feature replaces warrior culture.
  • Peaceful: Some furijah are born in peaceful tribes or cultures that don't partake in their warrior culture, and allow individuals to flourish. Such furijah gain Skill Focus as a bonus feat. This alternate racial feature replaces warrior culture.
