A staff made of ruined and darkened wood, corrupted by dark powers, it is gnarled and looks as if it was teething with life. A Gnarled Hexing Staff is a +1 Focus short staff which count as if it was made of both cursewood and spellshocked wood. Any weapon-like spell cast through the staff carry the effect of cursewood.
However the staff is teeming with life of its own. If the staff is used to cast a weapon-like spell, and the wielder rolls a natural 1, the weapon-like spell is instead directed at a random creature within range beside the caster and the original target. The caster rerolls her attack roll against that target with a +2 bonus. If no other viable target is within range the spell simply misses.
