Guarapuava[edit]

Guarapuava uses the Functional Weapons of Legacy variant rule.

A highly intimidating massive Lance that seems to be peppered with cracks and scratches that glow with Abyssal heat

Guarapuava acts as Large +1 blacksteel titan slaying lance . There are five rituals that are performed, they must be performed in order (the 2nd ritual must be completed before you start the 3rd, even if you achieve the 3rd level pre-requisites). Rituals cost gold (in the form of feeding the blade raw materials) and xp, with an additional pre-requisite. Once the 1st level ritual is unlocked, the weapon displays its omen effect. You can take time out and spend 8 hours bringing the weapon to the next level once you have the pre-requisites.

Guarapuava is a unique magic item, on its way to becoming an artifact. While it has a price, it cannot be completely destroyed. If reduced to 0 hp, it instead falls inert in a broken condition, and unable to be used until repaired, but is not destroyed as items usually are. It is treated as an artifact against the effects of mage's disjunction.

Omen: When wielded Guarapuava gives the wielder a rush of adrenaline causing an increased heart rate.

1st Ritual (Awaken Hellfire)[edit]

Infernal Shielding: The Oversized base of the weapon fans out farther, allowing you to add X to your AC where X is the number of rituals Guarapuava has completed.

Heat: Guarapuava glows with infernal heat, it deals 1d6 extra fire damage whenever it hits in melee.

Pre-Requisites: BAB +3 or 22 Strength. Must emerge Guarapuava in molten metal (which is absorbed into it leaving no trace)

Cost: 2000 gp, 80 xp

2nd Ritual (Demon's Hunger)[edit]

Rend Armor: Guarapuava's massive frame and twisted metal allows it to deal 4d6 + str points of damage to the opponent’s armor on a successful hit, as long as the opponent is being grappled.

High Heat: Guarapuava internal flame grows, the damage from it's heat ability becomes 1d8

Pre-Requisites: BAB +6 . You must kill an opponent equal to or higher than your HD with your bare hands and no armor with Guarapuava within 60ft of you. Afterward you must pick Guarapuava up with your blood soaked hands.

Cost: 8500 gp, 320 xp

3rd Ritual (Hell's Eye)[edit]

Dowsing: Guarapuava may lead it's wielder where they want to go. 3 times a day it may cause it's wielder to act as though guided by discern location. The wielder must have seen (or have an item belonging to) the creature to be found, or must have touched the object to be located. This ability is the equivalent of an 8th-level spell. Discern Location. While this ability is active glowing spots appear to be glowing eyes of various kinds.

Can't Hide: Once per day, the wielder of Guarapuava may use True Seeing, as the spell. Using this ability causes the eye effect to appear on the blade as dowsing as well as causing the wielders eyes to glow and appear sharpened.

Pre-Requisites: BAB +9. Must feed Guarapuava 3 items that are haunted or possessed.

Cost: 18,000 gp, 720 xp

4th Ritual (Lance of Hell)[edit]

Shield of Hell: Guarapuava's wielder gains Immunity to electricity and poison and resistance to acid 10, cold 10, and fire 10.

Extreme Heat: Guarapuava has raging hellfire inside it, damage from its heat ability rises again to 2d8

Greater Infernal Shielding: The AC boost from Infernal Shielding becomes X + 2

Pre-Requisites: BAB +15

Cost: 50,000 gp, 2000 xp. You must take 50 points of fire damage in a single attack while wielding Guarapuava.

5th Ritual (Key to Hell)[edit]

Open the Gate: Once per day a the wielder of Guarapuava can automatically summon 4d10 dretches, 1d4 hezrous, or one nalfeshnee, glabrezu, marilith, or balor. The demons summoned this way are loyal to the wielder and stay for 2d6 + 1 rounds.

Hell's Reach: Guarapuava has its reach extended by an extra 25 ft. The weapon threatens the squares in its reach normally, and can still make attacks in the previous squares it was able to previously, changing size and shape in an instant to meet your need.

Pre-Requisites: Str 25 or higher.

Cost: 150,000 gp, 4000 xp. You must drop Guarapuava in a large volcano and meditate on the rim for 3 days, afterwards the volcano will erupt and deliver Guarapuava back to you, you are immune to the eruption, but no one else is.

Prerequisites: N/A.
Cost to Create: Unique item, cannot be created.
