In the darkest times, we only have each other...
If the target takes a killing blow, even in the case of Area of Effect damage, the guardian angel takes the blow instead and the target is immediately teleported to a place they innately consider safe, or that the caster has specified during the spell's casting. In order for the guardian angel to accept the task of guarding the target, they must either be contacted and convinced during the spell's casting, or the caster must sacrifice their own life.
In case the caster pledges their life to act as the guardian angel, the caster need not die as part of the spell's casting, though the process is heavily straining. However, in order for the caster to pledge their life force to the target, it is considered that they bend the time continuum, in order to have their future dead self's spirit act as the guardian angel. When the killing blow is dealt to the target, if the caster is still alive, the caster takes the full force of it regardless of distance between caster and target. If the caster is already dead during the spell's activation, the caster's spirit materializes before the target and takes the blow, destroying the caster's spirit in the process.
Until the spell is activated, the caster's spirit or the guardian angel is considered to always be beside the target, watching over them.
The same target cannot be targeted more than once with the same spell.
