Magi[edit]

An honorable race of spiritual beings, the Magi are the defenders of the civilizations and beyond.

Skill Bonuses: +2 Arcana, +2 Insight
Elemental Bond: You gain a +2 racial bonus to damage rolls with all attack powers with the Arcane or Divine keywords.
Herald of the Elements: You gain a +2 bonus to saving throws to end ongoing damage with any elemental keyword (Acid, Cold, Fire, Lightning, Necrotic, Psychic, and Radiant).
Spell Source: When you are playing as a spell-casting class, you can choose to retrain any of your class powers at every milestone instead of the next day.

Warriors of the worlds and defenders of the old traditions that have shaped the worlds into being, the Magi are the pinnacle of the survival of the other races—including the humans. Their pure devotion to the worlds have made them natural artists in the creation of technology and in their innate ability to efficiently wield the strange magical powers known as the Elements.

Physical Qualities[edit]

Magi, Like humans, have an array of skin tones-- from dark brown to pale white and everything in between. They also have many hair colors and styles, but many Magi are encountered with black, brown, blonde, or red hair with shades and tints in between. Magi are most commonly seen with brown, blue, and green eyes.
Their society is also based on their climate or environment, like that of humans. However, Magi are completely accustomed to large cityscapes, since their nature allows them to interact with many individuals. They are an expanding race-- covering ground at a massive scale. Their moral enemies-- the Rygoliths-- are covering ground at a fast-pace as well.
Magi life spans around 90 years, but some venerable members can live to be around 130 years or even more. Their natural ability to harness the elements has made them stronger-- both physically and spiritually, resulting in longer lifespans. Even the oldest commoner can still do moderate tasks as if he were 50-60 years younger.

Playing a Magi[edit]

Magi are completely flexible-- more so than humans. They are less likely to become villainous or develop lifestyles that will harm the common civilizations, although some Magi villains do exist.
As they are defenders, they are also quite stubborn, for some of them rely upon their magical properties a little too much. They are also very creative and are superb crafters of many spacecraft and subcraft on some water worlds.
With great power comes exceptional responsibility, and this is no exception when wielding the Elements. They are one of the many other races capable of wielding the elements, but no other does it as well as the Magi can-- well, almost. The Precursors still have the elemental skills up in spades, but that’s only because they were the first of the lesser kind to discover the true nature of the Elements.

Magi Adventurers[edit]

Three sample Magi adventurers are described below.

Darren, a magi commando, is the center point of his forces and is a critical combat asset because of his ability to lead his troops straight into the heat of battle. His cries of courage and victory have propelled his units to the top ranks and are recognized as the most valuable assets by the commanding generals. His use of the elements has given him a clear advantage towards tactical combat, and it is this skill that has led him to victory.
Kaila, a magi spellcaster, is an unperturbed scholar and is a fantastic combatant, using her elemental skills in sync with her martial combat styles to create various forms of combat arts, such as the Arcane Martial Arts. Many elders have respected her prospects and she has been recognized the world over as a very important asset to the welfare of the civilizations. Many have devoted themselves to passing on her arts to future generations.
Malcolm, a magi warrior, is a spirited and glorious champion. His determination has gotten him involved with many adventuring companies and groups and has become a reliable ally whenever anyone was in need of a helping hand. His focus on the elements has made him a skilled swordsman, and a critical combat asset, even though he is not a part of the military.
