Opal warp scorpion swarms usually form because they're after their precious opalescent warp scorpion honey. They mindlessly swarm in and devour as much as they can, biting and clawing and stinging at everything that gets in their way. If separated from available honey, they'll head straight for it, often warping across dimensional boundaries to get a taste.
Environment: It is unknown where opal warp scorpions come from naturally, if anywhere. When encountered away from honey, it's usually because they're locked inside an area that bars dimensional travel.
Typical Physical Characteristics: a typical opal warp scorpion is roughly the size of a human hand, whitish in color with a sheen that shines yellowish to reddish depending on the light. They're rather stoutly built, with thick limbs and large claws. When amassed in a swarm, their skittering and clambering blankets areas.
They don't carry treasure, but a trained individual can attempt to retrieve opalescent warp scorpion honey from a particularly large individual specimen. Occasionally, the creatures are boiled and eaten, tasting something like lobster, but drier.
