With an arcane word from within the shadowy palanquin box, four oiled, musclebound humanoids sprang into existence and hefted the poles onto their shoulders without a word nor grunt.
A simple pole made to be fitted into the slots or brackets of a palanquin and usually sold in pairs. With a command word, two to eight sweaty strongmen are created and lift the poles onto their shoulders. The poles summon even numbers of strongmen, split equally between before and behind the palanquin. Each strongman has a strength of 20, and the poles summon a sufficient number that the palanquin is a light load for the strongmen (divide the weight of the palanquin and passengers by 133 to determine the number of strongmen). As normal for the spell, these strongmen cannot attack and are magical effects, not creatures. They each take up a 5' square, weigh 200 lbs, have an effective AC of 15, 35 hp, and have saves of Fort +1, Ref +5, Will +5. They have a move speed of 30 ft, and can hustle or run indefinitely. The strongmen created by this item will take no actions that are not related to transporting the palanquin they are attached to, which can include setting it down to clear obstacles and the like.
Prerequisites: Craft Wondrous Item, sweaty strongmen.
Cost to Create: 2,700 gp, 432 EXP, 6 days.
