The Riding Dynos is a large-sized bipedal feathered dinosaur, sharing many similarities with a Megaraptor with a cockatoo head. It native to the desert of Bes Kuria, used by it people as a fast alternative to the camel. It subsist almost entirely on grains and leaves as well as small animals like rodents. The Riding Dynos is not predatory, but can be tamed easily and has very high movement speed, making it very suitable for a mount. It sometime hunted for it heat resistant feathers.
The Riding Dynos like to dig it nest, it like to dig in general in fact. A strategy it developed to survive the deadly attacks of Bes Kuria's skyshark population.
Combat[edit]
Riding Dynos usually flee combat, unless wounded or cornered at which point it will use it beaks to bite and kick with it strong legs.
Burrowing Legs (Ex): A Riding Dynos has the ability to dig as if it had a Combat Shovel.
Desert Traveler (Ex):A Riding Dynos ignore natural difficult terrain found in Sandy and Rocky Desert Terrain.
Heat Resistance (Ex): A Riding Dynos gain a +8 bonus on Fortitude saves against the effects of intense heat, it fathers also grant it fire resistance 3.
Powerful Build (Ex): As the Half-Giant ability. This ability allow medium creature to use the Riding Dynos as a mount.
Sound Imitation (Ex): A Riding Dynos has the ability to imitate any sound it hear, including spoken sentence. A DC 10 Listen check reveal the sound was made by an oversized bird.
Companion[edit]
A riding dynos can be selected as a paladin's mount or animal companion in place of a horse. They may also be purchased at the price of 450 gp for a trained adult male bird, 100 additional gp for a breeding female.
Treasure[edit]
The feathers of a riding dynos are value, a cloak or other garment made with riding dynos's feather grant it heat resistance ability to the wearer.
The feathers of an adult riding dynos are worth a combined value of 150 gp on the open market.
