Level Adjustment:

When a Shellder attaches itself to a Slowpoke's tail, a transformation of both creatures occurs. The Shellder becomes larger and more powerful, as does the Slowpoke. The Shellder injects a poison into the Slowpoke's tail that has the strange effect of making the Slowpoke faster and more intelligent.

The Slowpoke's psionic powers increase, and the Shellder and Slowpoke's minds meld into a single entity. The Slowpoke has become a Slowbro - and it is now sufficiently weighted on its tail that it can walk upright.

Slowbros have a symbiotic relationship with their Shellders - the Shellder eats the secretions from the end of the Slowbro's tail, and also gets the leftovers of the Slowbro's meals - and the Shellder protects the Slowbro's vulnerable parts and injects strength enhancing toxins into the Slowbro.


Slowbros try to stay ahead of their opposition by confusing them and sticking themselves as far up the Shellder as they can.

Always Surprised (Ex): Even if a Slowbro notices a threat, it reacts so slowly that it cannot act during a surprise round.

Immune to Pain (Ex): Slowbro do not react in any way to pain. Spells and effects that are pain based (such as a symbol of pain) do not affect them.

Withdraw (Ex): A Slowbro can insert large portions of its anatomy into the lips of the drooling clam that is sucking on its tail. When a Slowbro fights defensively, it also gains one-quarter cover (+2 cover bonus to AC, +1 to Reflex saves), when it uses the total defense action it gains one-half cover (+4 cover bonus to AC, +2 to Reflex saves).

Psionics (Sp): At will: random action, detect thoughts, touch of madness, bolts of bedevilment, 1/day - confusion, waterball[1], as a Sorcerer of a caster level equal to its hit dice.

The sample Slowbro has a save DC of 13 + spell level for Psionics.
