This esoteric spell invokes a mass of shadowy ectoplasm in your hand, which you fire as a ranged touch attack against a valid target within 60 feet. On a successful hit, the spectral orb deals 1d6 damage per caster level (maximum of 10d6), half of which is negative energy damage and the other half has no specific type. Creatures healed by negative energy damage are not healed by this spell, although they do not take the negative energy damage. Due to being made of ectoplasm, spectral orb fully affects incorporeal creatures. Because of its mass, a spectral orb damages swarms normally.
A creature struck by a spectral orb must succeed on a Will save or be stunned for 1 round. An undead creature that fails it save is instead staggered for 1d4 rounds.
