This is a lovely spell for distracting an enemy spellcaster at lower levels, or countering a spell without using the terrible counterspell rules. It's a great addition to a spell book.

Finally a way for wizards to counter each other in combat at low levels.

Spellcaster's Bane

Diediedie stupid spellcasters. Yay, spellcaster nerf! --Ghostwheel 05:54, 15 November 2010 (UTC)

Augment[edit]

Though not described as an augment, the last paragraph gives two augments too it. Since it was decided there was only going to be one augment for spell at most, what do we do with this? --Havvy 06:31, 15 November 2010 (UTC)

Call the second level of augment "Greater"? - Tarkisflux 06:53, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
Those are Ghostwheel's work. If this gets ported to TOToM (which it may), I'll simplify it down to one augment. - MisterSinister 11:55, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
Oh right, didn't see the (3.5e Spell) part...  :P --Havvy 12:06, 15 November 2010 (UTC)

Are you sure this is a cantrip?[edit]

Level 1 spell I can see, but cantrip? Maybe I'l just put off from the fact the Concentration check is pretty beefy (it's based on your CL instead of damage like certain crappy SpC spells of a higher level I could note). That and I'm wary of immediate action cantrips which have useful in combat applications. -- Eiji-kun 04:45, 10 May 2011 (UTC)

It does take a touch attack and a Will save before they have to make the Concentration check. Also, the Concentration check DC is still lower than that of Magic Missile if you cast it as an immediate action. --Foxwarrior 04:49, 10 May 2011 (UTC)
