Why 2 skills?[edit]

You have a skill feat that requires you to invest in two skills to actually use it, referring to the open lock stuff here, and that seems pretty out of line with other skill feats. The weirdness of having to invest in two skills to use your skill feat aside, why open lock? There's no physical device for you to play with, so the parallels seem pretty weak. - Tarkisflux Talk 05:32, 15 May 2012 (UTC)

Mostly because the Gatecrasher PrC has it, but I'm fine with changing it. Making this feat, I wanted to make a statement that PrCs with really flavorful and cool abilities that are useless in combat (like the Gatecrasher class) can be made instead into scaling feats similar to Tome feats--you just don't need them to be wizard-level, and they can bring all the goodness and flavor with them without wasting class levels on abilities that will make you useless in combat. I'm just not sure, since this feat doesn't give combat goodness, if it would be better as rogue-level or fighter-level... :-/ --Ghostwheel 06:52, 15 May 2012 (UTC)
Unless the final benefit is a new addition, I'd say that's quite a powerful shutdown tool, and one simply has to weigh it against the other uses in deciding whether to use it. It still could be wizard-level, in my opinion, in the same fashion as Blitz, which by my reckoning is unspectacular as far as combat feats go but then makes up for it with it's +16 benefit. That said, I'm not opposed to it being Rogue-level either, but I think Fighter-level isn't giving the 19 rank ability enough credit. I suppose I could be overvaluing it, but it seems pretty badass to me. - TG Cid 16:09, 15 May 2012 (UTC)

It's highly conditional to the campaign, but since it's a feat that's entirely forgivable. Pretty good overall.

This is another of Ghostwheel's fluff feats that I can get behind. It's less likely to come up in most games than his other ones, but it's a more mainstream skill and that makes up for it IMO. I likes it.
