This is pretty cool, this is like a generic template for all of those multiclass feats from the complete books like Aesthetic Ranger and Daring Outlaw, except better because you can actually get some class features out of it too. Not to mention, it's well balanced because it requires you to keep your levels balanced with each other to get the benefit. Well done!

Misunderstanding[edit]

What, does this feat actually do anything? You are kept your level -3 in both your classes, which is fine, but then... you need to keep them within 2 levels to keep the feat working.

So Fighter 3/Wizard 1 (effective Fighter 3/Wizard 1). Or Fighter 11/Wizard 9 (effective Fighter 11/Wizard 9). Since you can't maintain the feat benefits if you go to Fighter 11/Wizard 8 or 7 or even less, you will never hit that minimum scaling cap. The feat turns off before that happens. I think you might be. So the idea is that if you are a Fighter 11/Wizard 9 you stack the levels (11 + 9 = 20) so you're level 20 for the purpose of determining caster level, manifester level, the power of class features that rely on class level (such as a monk unarmed strike).
Then you count as that level -3 for BOTH classes for the purposes of determining which class feature you get (such as new spell known, new class features, etc). So in reality a Fighter 11/Wizard 9 counts as a Fighter 17/Wizard 17 for the purposes of determining which class feature you get (such as new spell known, new class features, etc).
However, your base attack bonus, save, skills and levels for gaining bonus feats are still gotten at the proper class level for when you reach it.
Because the Fighter 11/Wizard 9 is at the two level max, if he puts a level into Fighter, the gap becomes 3 and the feat stops working, but if he puts the level into ANYTHING else the feat continues. Fighter 11/Wizard 10 would be Fighter 18/Wizard 18.
Or, Fighter 11/Wizard 9/Prestige Class 1 would still keep the feat since Fighter and Wizard are not **more** than 2 levels apart, and would still be Fighter 17/Wizard 17/Prestige Class 1 for the purposes of determining which class feature you get (such as new spell known, new class features, etc).
Hope this clears it up. The-Marksman (talk) 03:13, 6 February 2020 (UTC)
