First of all, fantastic execution, a streamlined and effective subclass.
I would just adjust the text where you it says that they gain spells with a range of Self (seems unclear to me). I would specify in Punchcasting that having multiple attacks doesn't allow to cast multiple spells, since it seems the intended way I'm a bit unsure about the capstone ability: isn't a bit weak at that level? It's nice because it helps with melee but maybe not that good at that level? I'm not an expert with 5e though About the Strength spellcasting: I think the obligated-gish one must make may balance the use of Str for attacks and spells, so very good! |
Thanks Blue[edit]
I struggle with the wording, but the intent is that if you have a helpful spell it only effects you. So they could learn haste, but only for themselves. And of course any self-only spells anyways.
Punchcasting is indeed intended like that, I'll try and clear up the wording.
The capstone is probably a bit weak (as its available for any barbarian raging), but its a bit unique for a caster to get it so I figure it'll be fine.
Making Str casters in 5e is easier because of the bounded stats. It also makes it a bit more MAD by default, as any other caster may skimp on Dex or Con, not expecting to be hit often due to range. Being in melee means Str/Dex/Con are going to be needed. -- Eiji-kun (talk) 13:19, 28 September 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks, as I said the subclass is good, just wanted to point out some things -- The bluez in the dungeon (talk) 05:48, 1 October 2023 (UTC)
