It doesn't have very many applications, but it's a nice way to open up a few low-end options when you're playing with DMs that are more fond of adding new material than changing existing material.

Low feat is low.[edit]

I just can't think for the life of me why anyone would do this as opposed to (probably) getting a superior weapon by taking EWP. Ok, exotic weapons 9/10 aren't worth the feat, but I can't imagine whose pass up the ability to use a double axe, nevermind an actually useful weapon like a spiked chain. -- Eiji-kun (talk) 09:54, 25 August 2014 (UTC)

Probably for the Greatsword and Greataxe, which have exotic stats despite being martial. That's my best guess, anyway. Surgo (talk) 21:10, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
There is a lot of material out there that restricts your use to some particular weapon, or some small set of weapons – Bladesinger, off the top of my head. Combine that with something like Exotic Weapon Master, and you get the corner cases where this is useful. --DanielDraco (talk) 23:29, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
