Psy fluff[edit]

Just a little critic about the fluff: "Im good a fighting from horseback, now I want to upgrade to a pegasus 'PUFF' oh I devolepede psionic powers?"

There is no build up to the psionic, no prequists, nothing.

My suggestion would to put in something like: sometimes a mounted warrior begins to develop a bond whit his stead, this special bond manifests itself when the rider have to trust 120% on his stead not to throw him plumning into certain death and often awaken sleeping powers..... yada yada you get my idea.

Maybe even put wild talent (or hidden talent) as a prequist feat to show the sleeping power. --Wildmage Talk 06:15, 17 September 2013 (UTC)

You make an interesting point... I want to encourage people to take on this class relatively early in their progression, so I don't want there to be too many prerequisites. Would you be opposed to characters simply receiving a magic sword that automatically allows them to harness this psionic power?
Although, now that I think about it, my original intention was merely to have a flying mounted prestige class. The whole "shoot your sword with power" thing only came into my head after I picked the name "Skyward Sword" (for obvious reasons). I suppose I could scrap the whole psionic idea and still have a viable mounted combat class.
What do you think? --Nolanf (talk) 07:12, 17 September 2013 (UTC)
A ranged pew-pew-lasers sword would be cool (also hilarious), and it's not even something that you need PP for. I'd drop the PP entirely and just writeup a bunch of conditional at-will ("while at maximum hp") or /minute recharge abilities and call it good. - Tarkisflux Talk 07:34, 17 September 2013 (UTC)
I realy like the idea just could not connect the fluff and rules (in my mind you could just rewrite the fluff without addin requirements) I think its gonna be awsome eighter way you go :) --Wildmage Talk 09:32, 17 September 2013 (UTC)
Okay. Here's what I did: I gave the character a magic sword (without a lot of details on where it came from because it seems silly to get too specific about these things). I took out the power points so the character can use the sword charge as often as possible, but I lowered the maximum power of the charge a little bit to balance it out. I think this works.
Could whoever is in charge of marking articles "incomplete" please take that tag off now? Thanks. --Nolanf (talk) 22:43, 18 September 2013 (UTC)
Never mind. I got rid of the Incomplete status myself. Thanks, Ghostwheel, for checking up on me. --Nolanf (talk) 23:04, 19 September 2013 (UTC)
