Ki Bloodline[edit]

Your magical powers descend from the studies of your ancestors, who were powerful monks. While you may not follow their path, the power of their ki resonates within you.

Class Skill: Acrobatics.

Bonus Spells: aura pulse (3rd), mirror image (5th), drillbeam cannon (7th), supersonic flight (9th), greater bladed dash (11th), aura pressure (13th), ki shout (15th), earthquake (17th), foresight (19th).

Bonus Feats: Combat Casting, Extra Ki, Improved Unarmed Strike, Silent Spell, Spell Focus, Spell Penetration, Weapon Focus (Ray or Unarmed Strike).

Bloodline Arcana: You gain a +2 bonus on caster level checks made against spell resistance, this bonus doubles if your spell deals physical damage.

Bloodline Powers: The power of ki resonates through your magic.

Sense Ki (Ex): At 1st level, at will, a ki bloodline sorcerer can detect life forces as if he were using a paladin’s detect evil class ability; however, instead of sensing evil creatures, she senses creatures that have a ki pool. Each such creature has an aura like a cleric of an aligned deity, and treats its current number of ki points as its Hit Dice for the purposes of this ability.

Ki Pool (Su): At 3rd level a ki bloodline sorcerer gain a ki pool, the number of points in a sorcerer’s ki pool is equal to 1/2 her sorcerer level + her Charisma modifier. By spending 1 point from his ki pool, a ki bloodline sorcerer can do one of the following, Each of these powers is activated as a swift action:

  • Increase the damage dealt by the next spell she cast until the end of her turn by +1 damage per dice.
  • Increase her speed by 20 feet for 1 round.
  • Give herself a +4 dodge bonus to AC for 1 round.

The ki pool is replenished each morning after 8 hours of rest or meditation; these hours do not need to be consecutive. If the sorcerer possesses levels in another class that grants points to a ki pool, sorcerer levels stack with the levels of that class to determine the total number of ki points in the combined pool, but only one ability score modifier is added to the total. The choice of which score to use is made when the second class ability is gained, and once made, the choice is set. The sorcerer can now use ki points from this pool to power the abilities of every class she possesses that grants a ki pool.

Ki Flight (Su): At 9th level, a ki bloodline sorcerer may spend 2 ki points as a swift action to replicate the effect of the fly spell with a caster level equal to her sorcerer levels.

Ascended Form (Su): At 15th level, as long as she has 1 point of ki in her ki pool, the ki bloodbline sorcerer is able to call upon the ki inside of her body to attain greater height. As a standard action, the ki bloodline sorcerer can fall under the effect of transformation. While under this effect, the sorcerer's appearance obviously changes, such as their hair color changing or gaining an aura of some kind.

Unlike the spell, the ki bloodbline retain her ability to cast spells, and gain a magus's spell combat class feature using her sorcerer spells rather than magus spells. Upon transforming, or at the start of each turn the sorcerer is transformed, she loses 1 point of ki. The ki bloodline sorcerer transformation automatically ends if she no longer has ki points in her ki pool, or she may dismiss the transformation as a free action. After ending the transformation, the ki bloodline sorcerer is fatigued for 2 rounds for each round she stayed transformed and she cannot transform again until that fatigue elapses.

Perfect Self (Ex): At 20th level, a ki bloodline sorcerer gains the Perfect Self class feature of a Monk, except the damage reduction is changed to DR 5/-.
