Woodling[edit]

The woodlings are a race of fey creature related to dryads who have adopted an even stronger bond with plants. They are said to be originating from human who were cursed into tree and eventually regained their mind and ability move. Other stories tell of dryad who absorb their own tree to be able to roam the land. No matter their origin, woodlings are tough and slow plant people who are in tune with nature.

Racial Traits[edit]

  • -2 Dexterity, +4 Constitution, +2 Intelligence or +2 Wisdom or +2 Charisma: Woodlings are both very hardy and have a versatile and powerful mind. However they are made of wood and thus are slower and clumsier than most.
  • Fey: Woodlings are fey despite their heavy plant traits.
  • Medium: As a Medium creature, a woodling has no special bonuses or penalties due to its size.
  • Woodling base land speed is 20 feet. However, woodlings can move at this speed even when wearing medium or heavy armor or when carrying a medium or heavy load (unlike other creatures, whose speed is reduced in such situations).
  • Low-Light Vision: A woodling can see twice as far as a human in starlight, moonlight, torchlight, and similar conditions of poor illumination. She retains the ability to distinguish color and detail under these conditions.
  • Hardy (Ex): Woodlings are made of wood and their skin is bark, as a result they possess a natural armor of +2 and have DR/Slashing equal to 1/3rd of their character level. If she possess the Fey's Resilience feat she use whichever DR is highest and it become DR/Cold Iron and Slashing.
  • Lashing Vines (Ex): As a free action a woodling can extend or retract long vines from her forearm, essentially 'drawing' two feral strikes with the same profile as whips. A woodling is always proficient with it lashing vines but cannot use the middle grip ability. When attacking with her lashing vine, a woodling gain the Improved Grab ability.
  • Partial Plant Traits: Woodling are immune to poison, sleep effects, paralysis, polymorph, and stunning, gain a +2 bonus against all mind-affecting effects and possess 25% fortification. woodlings are treated as creature of the plant type whenever doing so would be advantageous or not.
  • Photosynthetic (Ex): A woodling gain Rapid Healing equal to her Constitution bonus while under natural sunlight. Additionally whenever she spend at least 1 hour in the sun you are treated as having consumed a full meal for the day.
  • Vita Pulse (Su): Woodlings are infused with positive energy and they can release it in a powerful burst. Once per day as a swift action, a woodling can unleash a wave of life energy in a 20 ft. spread centered on herself. All creature within the spread (including herself) heal 5 point per character level. Undead and creatures healed by negative energy take half the amount of healing in damage, construct and creature not affected by positive energy are immune.
