Crystalforged

A crysrtalforged item appears glassy and is covered in tiny crystals. It is said a crystalforged item is capable of housing multiple enhancement crystals.

The crystalforged template can be added to any suit of armor, shield, or weapon. Crystalforged items are covered in crystal and the material making the weapon appear somewhat glassy. A crystalforged item is capable of receiving multiple enhancement crystal but it is also more fragile and brittle. It is unknown who first discovered the method of creating crystalforged weapon

Requirements

The creator of a crystalforged item must have at least 6 ranks in knowledge (dungeoneering) in order to craft a crystalforged weapon. As an additional cost of making a crystalforged weapon, the creature must sacrifice 25 gp of deep crystal per pound the weapon weight.

Crystalforged Armor and Shields

The crystalforged template can be added to any suit of armor or shield. A crystalforged armor is unusually glass-like and feels stiff to wear, altough it has no effect on maneuverability within the armor. The armor or shield's hardness and hit points are halved unless the item was made of some type of crystal (such as mundane crystal or deep crystal. A crystalforged armor or shield can take an additional enhancement crystal.

Cost: 2000 gp

Special: Crystalforged armor and shields are treated as having armor spikes (or shield spikes). If they already possess armor spikes or shield spikes the damage die is increased by 1 step.

Crystalforged Weapons

Crystalforged weapons are covered in tiny crystals, the material that made the weapon also has a strange glassy look and when broken shatter like glass. The weapon's hardness and hit points are halved unless the item was made of some type of crystal (such as mundane crystal or deep crystal. A crystalforged weapon can take an additional enhancement crystal.

Cost: 3200 gp
