Alchemical Blade

While a travelling swashbuckler pick-ups on many strange talents, some of the more intellectual members of the class are able to pick on truly unique abilities. An alchemical blade is a swashbuckler who has learned how to use alchemy, being able to brew limited extracts and use splash weapons with greater intensity.

Class: Swashbuckler

Level: 1st-2oth

Replaces: Deeds (opportune parry and riposte, swashbuckler initiative and dizzying defense), Bonus Feats (4th, 12th, 20th)

Benefit: An alchemical blade gain access to the following class features:

Alchemical Dabbler (Ex): As the alchemist's alchemy class feature, except that the alchemical blade cannot brew extract initially. Starting at 4th level, an alchemical blade gains the ability to brew extract, using a ranger's spells per day as her extract per day. She uses her Intelligence as her key casting ability and her caster level is equal to her class level. The alchemical blade does not consider spells on the alchemist spell of 5th level or above to be on her spell list.

This ability replaces bonus feats gained at 4th level, 12th level and 20th level.

Deeds: An alchemical blade has access to unique deeds related to her skills in alchemy. She gains access to the following deeds.

Elegant Throw (Ex): As long as an alchemical blade has at least 1 point of panache in her pool, she gains the benefits of the Throw Anything feat. Furthermore, when she uses a splash weapon she may spend 1 point of panache to add her Charisma to the damage roll.

Persistent Coating (Ex): As long as an alchemical blade has at least 1 point of panache in her pool, any alchemical item applied to her weapon has its length doubled. If the alchemical item only applied to a certain number of strikes, then she increases those number of strikes by her Charisma bonus. This does not apply to poisons. In addition, the alchemical blade can spend 1 panache to apply an alchemical item normally applied as a standard action as a swift action, or as a move or swift action as a free action.

Transmute Blade (Su): A 11th level alchemical blade may spend 1 point of panache as a swift action to transmute the material of her weapon. She chooses between adamantine, cold iron or silver. Her weapon counts as being made of that material for the purpose of bypassing damage reduction and regeneration for 1 minute.

This ability replaces the opportune parry and riposte deed, swashbuckler initiative deed and dizzying defense deed.
