Hoplite Combat [Fighter]
Prerequisites: Base attack bonus +1, shield proficiencyBenefit: The character may carry a shield while wielding a polearm weapon (spear, longspear, lance, halberd, glaive, etc.) but has a -2 penalty to attack (-1 with a buckler).
This feat works with any type of shield, including bucklers and tower shields. This feat may also be used while riding, and while "readying against a charge."
When not carrying a shield the weapon is still considered a two-handed weapon.
Normal: All reach weapons require both hands to use.Special: A fighter may select this feat as one of his bonus feats.
