Obstagoonan
A race based off the pokemon Obstagoon, these humanoid badger-like anthromorphic creatures are masters of picking fights.
Racial Traits
- +2 Constitution, -2 Intelligence: Tough and hardy, but taking blows probably has done nothing good for their minds.
- Monstrous Humanoid (Anthro): They are humanoid badgers with large claws and patterns on their fur and hide.
- Medium: As a Medium creature, an obstagoonan has no special bonuses or penalties due to its size.
- Obstagoonan base land speed is 30 feet.
- Darkvision: An obstagoonan can see in the dark up to 60 feet. Darkvision is black and white only, but it is otherwise like normal sight, and an obstagoonan can function just fine with no light at all.
- Defiant (Ex): Suffering only drives the obstagoonan to fight even harder. When you are suffering from an instance of ability damage, ability drain, or ability penalty to an ability score not intentionally brought on by their own action, you may gain a morale bonus to one different ability score of your choice equal to the largest amount of damage, drain, or penalty suffered, up to a maximum bonus of +6. Activating this ability is a non-action, and it lasts until the triggering damage is healed, or 10 minutes, whichever is less. For example, you could take 7 Constitution damage and 2 Wisdom damage, and gain +6 Strength. A few rounds later, you take 4 Charisma drain and gain +4 Constitution.
- Guts (Ex): Obstagoonans fight harder when suffering. When blinded, exhausted, fatigued, frightened, shaken, sickened, or staggered, they gain a +1d6 additional damage to melee attacks for the duration.
- Natural Armor (Ex): Obstagoonans have +1 natural armor.
- Natural Weapons (Ex): Obstagoonan have two primary claw attacks that deal 1d6 damage.
- Obstruct (Ex): Obstagoonan have a habit of getting in the way. As a free action they can choose to effectively fill their entire square for the purposes of cover until the start of their next turn, preventing creatures from attacking anything behind them. However, this ends if they move (or are forced to move) at all. While in this stance, they can take a standard action to gird themselves and they only take 1/2 hp damage from sources until the beginning of their next turn.
- Reckless (Ex): Obstagoonans have a unique form of increasing their damage at the cost of their safety. You can sacrifice up to 2 points of hp per point of BAB you have to gain a bonus on melee damage rolls equal to 1/2 the hit points sacrificed, to a maximum bonus of +10. This bonus lasts until the start of your next turn
- Skills: Obstagoonans have a +4 racial bonus to Intimidate skill checks.
- Automatic Languages: Common, Dwarven
- Bonus Languages: Gnoll, Gnome, Orc, Terran
- Favored Class: Barbarian or Fighter
