"Lady Gwegan presented herself in noble court as a high-principled woman of shimmering beauty, virtue and chastity. Though, detractors spoke of her exercising a wicked and sinful double life behind the curtains of courtly attendance. They guessed incorrectly however, wholly unaware of her arcane research laboratory at the Galwyvere estate. When she made public appearances, she adorned herself with her prized golden gem."
When worn as a piece of jewelry (taking up a magic item body slot), this gem focuses and channels magical knowledge into the wearer. Through study, the wearer can gain the knowledge of these stored arcane spells in addition to those allotted by her class and level, so long as the stored spell is on her class's spell list.
The gem can hold a two 0th level spells, a 1st level spell and a 2nd level spell. The gem is a storage space for arcane magical knowledge. The wearer must still encounter a written (such as in a spellbook or scroll), active, or cast version of the spell and succeed at a DC 20 Spellcraft check to imbue the spell into the gem (so long as there is available space). Thereafter, the arcane spellcaster may cast or prepare the spell as though she knew the spell or had it available from her spellbook.
You can also erase an existing spell from an arcane spellgem as a standard action. A newly created arcane spellgem is empty of spells, but a spellgem recovered as treasure might have spells recorded within, at the DM's option. If so, the value of the item increases as minimum spellcasting service costs.
Prerequisites: Craft Wondrous Item, permanency, a gem worth at least 250 gp.
Cost to Create: 5875, 450 EXP, 12 days.
