Cleotheran[edit]

A long time ago, the desert nation of Cleothera was besieged by a horrible plague and famine. their Gods had left them to rot and their great civilization was quickly eroding. After all recovery efforts failed, the necromancers who watched over their Great Necropolis hatched a plan. They took young men and women, killed them, trapped their souls in thinaun-laced wrappings and imbued their body in a pool of eldritch liquid for mummification. The bodies were moved to dry tombs, carefully stored and preserved until time was right. While most ritual of the sort aim to create Mummy, those who had undergone this one were due for a more living resurrection. Indeed thousand of years after their civilization fell, they began to wake.

The beings now known as Cleotheran are immortal beings who are between living and undead, being able to regenerate bodies like they had in their life but their life essence is trapped inside their wrappings. They are not quite living and not quite undead as they have undergone a special mummification process. The time spent in tomb unconcious has been harsh, leading to many forgetting partially or entirely about their old life, but most remember their old civilization and some even want to rebuild it.

A cleotheran look like a human, usually of a dark complexion given the region they are created in. They are usually beautiful and fit, however a features or two may betray their otherwise living appearance. All cleotheran wear mummy wrappings around themselves, since it where their lifeforce and soul is actually trapped, usually disguised by stylistically using it alongside whatever outfit they have or hiding it beneath armor.

They may even deliver unarmed strike, deliver touch attacks or combat maneuvers with their wrapping, however they cannot take attack of opportunity with them. The wrappings can be enhanced as a weapon, they always count as being masterwork.
