Compact[edit]
The compact item template is added to a ranged weapon to make it usable as if it was lighter.
Requirements[edit]
To craft a compact weapon the crafter must have 8 or more ranks in craft (weaponsmithing).
Compact Weapons[edit]
The compact weapon template may only be added to non-bow ranged weapons; it allows you to wield the weapon as if its handedness was one step lighter. Additionally if the weapon was originally two-handed but could have been used one-handed with a penalty (such a heavy crossbow or light crossbow) the penalty vanishes.
If this item template is applied on a weapon that was already light, you gain a +4 bonus on Sleight of Hand checks made to hide it. If the templated weapon held more than 1 ammunition its capacity is halved. The weight of a compact weapon is reduced by 25%.
