This blackened adamantine ring is looped with a faint skeletal motif, possessing a polished thrudstone face. The interior of the ring is lined with small runes to beckon longevity and minor gods of industry and travel.
When worn, this ring is set to transmute the wearer's corpse upon his death. The corpse, and all its gear (up to a heavy load), is transformed into a tiny 3 pound statuette in the form and likeness of the ringbearer. The statuette has hardness equal to 5 plus the wearer's HD total and 10 HP per HD of the wearer. On command, when held, the statuette can be returned to corpse form. In this event, the ring otherwise prevents decay of the corpse (even if removed) for a year and a day.
