The dark energies you draw around yourself blot out the sun. In the area of the spell's effect, night time conditions prevail. Additionally, all spells with the [Light] descriptor have their durations reduced by two categories (the categories are 1 hour/level, 10 minutes/level, 1 minute/level, 1 round/level, 1 round, in order from biggest to smallest), while spells with the [Darkness] descriptor (not including eclipse itself) have their durations increased by two categories. Spells with the [Darkness] descriptor which already have durations of 1 hour/level or more are not affected.
Additionally, all undead within the area of an eclipse spell receive a +2 profane bonus on attack rolls, saves and skill checks. Animals will not enter the area of an eclipse spell unless ordered to (a DC 30 Handle Animal check, made as a free action), and the check must be repeated every minute subsequently, or the animal attempts to flee the area at maximum speed until control is regained by another check at the same DC.
