Espionage Kit[edit]

An espionage kit contains a variety of spying devices, including listening wires, peephole drill, silver pellet, invisible ink, etc. An espionage kit contains a variety of spying devices, including listening wires, peephole drill, silver pellet, invisible ink, etc. A spy kit has 10 charges, each use of the spy kit deplete a single charge from it. A spy kit has multiple uses, including the one below:

Imitation Forgery: An espionage kit can be used to assist in forgery, using special clay to copy a seal or alchemical ink. An espionage kit grants a +2 circumstance bonus on Forgery checks.

Hidden Message: A small written message can be hidden in an area thanks to a spy kit, using fading ink or an easily overlooked container. A Search check DC 25 find the secret message or its vessel, unless the location of the message is already known.

Remote Surveillance: To be used this way, a spy kit must be deployed over the course of 1d4+1 minutes to a single 5x5 feet square. This typically involves drilling a peephole through a wall, hiding a listening wire with a can, or such. While actively operating the espionage kit within 30 feet (typically from another room), you counts as occupying the 'bugged' square for the purpose of listen or spot check (chosen when the spy kit is used). A Search check DC 20 reveals the square as 'bugged'.

A spy kit can also be used for other tasks, such as covering tracks, sabotaging a wheel and whatnot. A GM may determine if a tool in the spy kit is suitable for a particular task.

In a modern game, devices such as microphones, concealable camera, wiretapping kit and such are included. As a result the DC to find the item used in remote surveillance increases by 5. Additionally remote surveillance can be used over any distance. A modern kit can be used for wiretapping, hacking and whatnot.
