Inhabitants[edit]

Idylis is the home of young new gods, the first inhabitants and ruler of Idylis. The young deities rule benevolently over many other creatures who made Idylis their home, including spirits, humanoids and animals. The inhabitants of Idylis are almost always good aligned.

Idylean New Gods[edit]

The young deities of Idylis mostly live in the flying city of Primar but frequently wander the surface of Idylis. The young deities ahve a culture of their own, they heavily respect nature hence why their only city is flying high above the surface of Idylis, to leave nature untouched. Despite their respect for nature many young deities are very cosmopolitan, living in the planar metropolis of Primar and many shun the untamed wilds of the surface, preferring the comfort of the crystal spires and gleaming dome of Primar. The young gods are rule by Sourcefather, a powerful Idylean deity who is in tune with the source of all power, he rule benevolently over the Young Deities and Idylis in general. The sourcefather is a wise and respected ruler, while his word is absolute he never abuse it and greatly shun commanding other Gods out of respect, he always take his decisions based on the happiness of his subjects. A few young deities are not too keen on not having a word on how Idylis is governed, as a result quite a few prefer leaving Idylis from time to time and take their life in their own hand.

Young Gods practice a culture of freedom, each young deities are free to make the choices they want for their life unless it would harm the community. Despite having a central absolute authority the laws are very lax and there great amount of freedom within Idylean society. The young gods of Idylis typically live in group of 3 to 5 named clique, they usually share a dome in Primar, living a communal life between friends. The way young gods treat love and marriage varies, some prefer having permanent couple while most prefer free love, the overwhelming majority respect the wish of each particular young deity when it come to their personal life, especially love life.

The young deities are mostly good aligned, although a few are neutral or evil aligned. Evil aligned New Gods are prevented from leaving Idylis or in some case Primar itself, none are mistreated however and the vast majorities are accepted by their peers.

Idylean Technology[edit]

Boom Tubes[edit]

A boom tube is an extraordinary effect that replicate the travel version of the gate spell. It allow travelling through the multiverse with perfect accuracy, although the boom tubes created by smart cubes can only lead to Idylis's Boom Tube Central. A boom tube is heralded by a powerful sonic boom. When a boom tube is about to open it behave as the firestar (CL 17) spell except it does not allow spell resistance, is an extraordinary effect and deal sonic damages. As a result it is better to stand clear of an expanding boom tube.

Movement and Combat[edit]

Combat on Idylis is very similar to combat on the material plane.

Features of Idylis[edit]

The Flying City of Primar[edit]

A city of crystal spire and gleaming domes, Primar is the home of the New Gods. It size rival other major planar metropolis, although it population is very low for a metropolis. The streets and sky of Primar are patrolled by golems and other automated machines, maintaining and guarding the city, which is more than slightly off putting for foreigners. Very few outsider live in Primar and t typically temporary, the city is very peaceful and opportunities are hard to find. The city is not very well organized, the spires, domes and other structures don't form distract like in most city as it was mostly built out of whim, even for native it can be quite hard to reach a specific place within the city.

The young deities put a lot on emphasis on the sacredness of home, it is extremely impolite to enter a dome without being invited by the inhabitants first. Even the Sourcefather wouldn't enter a home uninvited except under the direst circumstance.

The Tree of Rebirth[edit]

The tree of rebirth is where New Gods are reborn after being slain, it a massive tree standing at almost a mile tall, with gigantic vibrant leaves and powerful root digging deep into the ground. The tree is surrounded by a peaceful garden maintained by the Idylean Deity Yasmine. Yasmine live in the gardens and aid the naked and confused reborn New Gods when they emerge from the tree, she is a highly respected guide especially among the young gods who taste death.

Outsiders are never allowed to approach the tree, although not it fear they might damage it, as it is essentially indestructible. It is simply seen as one of the most sacred place in Idylis, where only young deities should tread and even then only those with business with the tree or Yasmine are allowed to thread on the hallowed ground.
