It looks like the mage cast fireball, but it only produced a small burning sun instead of a wide-spread fireball. Well, that was easy to avo- BOOOOOOM!!!
Designed from the fireball spell, firestar looks visually identical. However, instead of exploding into a 20 ft radius spread, it forms a small star-like ball of flame which fills a 5 ft radius and deals 1d6 fire damage per level (max 20d6). Creatures in the area or passing through the area get a Reflex save for half damage. At the end of 1 round, this star collapses and explodes violently, dealing 1d10 fire damage per level (max 20d10) in a 20 ft radius burst, and those who fail their saving throws are pushed to the outer edge of the area effect and fall prone from the concussive force. A creature may end up making two saves if they are caught by the initial star and the subsequent explosion.
While stronger than its sister spell fireball, it has a longer wind-up and is easily telegraphed, causing creatures to move out of the way of the more devastating explosion.
Material Component: Small vial of quartz mixed with water.
