This polished steel and silver locket is encrusted with quartz gems. When first unclasped, the locket shows an illusory image of the current wearer's lover, spouse or concubine. The image is a couple of inches high and fits inside the locket, much like a picture. The image is only displayed if the affection was truly returned, even in the case of death or similar circumstances. The image is always displayed in the most pleasing way to the wearer's heart, typically showing their partner in good health and spirit.
When open, the locket can be made to perfectly mimic the voice of the individual displayed inside with a simple command word. The voice is at half the normal voice level for a human, and emanated from the locket. The voice can only be made to say phrases of affection toward the wearer that the displayed individual had previously said.
Once a Lovetie Locket is used to display an image, it cannot be altered. Thus most Lovetie Locket with a previous owner will have a picture inside. A melancholic reminder of the fleeting nature of life. If the wearer of the lovetie locket dies while carrying or wearing it, their own image is added alongside the image of their lover.
