5e Spell Lunging Maw
2nd-level conjuration
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: 60ft
Components: V, S, M (A tooth from a carnivorous creature.)
Duration: Concentration, up to 1 minute
Casters: Druid, Ranger, Warlock

With a wave of her hand, the Druid called forth the fangs of an otherworldly friend, opening as a gigantic rift. A gesture sent the rip in reality hurtling towards the undead general, swallowing him whole.

When you cast this spell, you summon a rift in space, called a Maw - A doorway opening just wide enough that an otherworldly creature can fit its ravenous mouth through. The Maw appears in an unoccupied space in the spell's range. The maw is a Large object with an AC equal to your spell save DC, and 20 hit points; If it drops to 0 hit points, the spell ends. The Maw doesn't fill its space.

When you cast the spell, you can move the Maw up to 30ft. If you ram the Maw into a creature, that creature must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, the creature suffers 2d6 points of Piercing damage.

If the creature rammed by the spell is Large or smaller, and it fails its saving throw, it is engulfed by the maw. While engulfed, it is Restrained and Blinded, and has total cover from effects originating from outside the Maw. At the beginning of its turn, an engulfed creature may make a Strength saving throw to break free of the Maw. On a failed save, it suffers 1d6 points of Acid damage, and remains engulfed; On a successful save, the creature breaks free. When a creature breaks free, or if the Maw is destroyed while it is engulfed, it is deposited in the Maw's space.

Once a creature is engulfed by the Maw, it cannot engulf another creature. However, you may still move the Maw as normal, as well as ram it into other creatures to bite them, forcing them to make the saving throw against its damage.

Channel: Bonus Action. When channeled, you may move the Maw up to 30ft. If you ram the Maw into a creature, it suffers the spell's effects as above.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the Acid damage increases by 1d6, and the Maw's hit points increase by 10, for each slot level above 2nd.
