Malazon[edit]

Often thought to be the tendons of powerful slain outsiders, these strings arm bows and violins alike. Where a particular malazon comes from is often irrelevant, though some particularly adept fiddlers like to brag about how they can pluck at a devil's heartstrings.

Thin and light-weight, the cord of a malazon is unbreakable. Their true origins are unknown, but their numbers are spread far and wide throughout the planes. Some are golden cords while others are black as pitch.

Equipping an instrument with a malazon grants it a +2 circumstance bonus on Perform skill checks.

Equipping a bow or other strung weapon with a malazon allows the wielder, once per day, to reroll a natural 1 on an attack roll.

They can be sometimes found in markets and auction houses, where there prices range from 1,000 — 3,000 gp.
