Malleastite[edit]
Scholars have recently unearthed techniques to produce this mineral, long thought lost to the ages. It was once only forged in volcanic vents deep at the bottom of the oceans. Now, even mortals of the surface can work this durable material.
This hard, polishable ceramic-like material possesses qualities of metal, making it prone to denting and bending rather than chipping or cracking. Depending on impurities and forging methods, its color can range from porcelain white to dark clay brown and can easily be glazed for further color variety.
It's somewhat magically reactive but otherwise inert to electrical current and salt-based corrosion, making it immune to these forms of damage. Objects made from it suffer a –2 penalty on saves against magical effects targeting it. Malleastite counts as both metal and stone for interacting with spells and for what can be made from it.
Due to the irregular nature of working with malleastite, armors, items and weapons fashioned from it must always be masterwork in quality. It costs 75 gp per pound.
Malleastite has 30 hit points per inch of thickness and hardness 15.
