Martial Factotum

This ACF gives the factotum a more "mundane" feel by giving him Tome of Battle maneuvers instead of arcane spellcasting.

Class: Factotum

Level: 2nd

Replaces: If you select this class feature, you lose Arcane Dilettante, Opportunistic Piety and Cunning Breach

Benefit: You gain Martial Dilettante at 2nd, Cunning Transposition at 5th and Cunning Circumvention at 11th level

Martial Dilettante (Ex or Su): Starting at 2nd level, you acquire a vague understanding of the sublime art of martial adepts. You know that with a bit of weird footwork and flashy hand movements, you can perform something that looks just like a martial maneuver.

At the start of each day, choose a number of martial maneuvers from any of the nine disciplines based on your factotum level. You can choose one 1st level maneuver at 2nd level, and you gain additional maneuvers as shown on the table below. The maximum level of the maneuvers you can use, according to your class level, is also shown on the table. You can select any maneuver up to that level, but you can prepare only one maneuver of your maximum level. Your factotum level is treated as a full-initiator class when calculating your initiator level for these stances and maneuvers.

Once you have chosen your known and readied maneuvers for the day, you cannot change them out again until you have rested for 8 hours.

You begin an encounter with all your known and readied maneuvers unexpended, regardless of how many times you might have already used them since you chose them. When you initiate a maneuver, you expend it for the current encounter, so each of your maneuvers can be used once per encounter, unless you recover them, as described below.

You can recover an expended maneuver by spending 1 inspiration point as a move action. You can choose one expended maneuver to refresh. It is now available for use in a subsequent round.

You also gain access to stances, as shown on the table below, which you re-choose each day when you choose your maneuvers known. You can select any stance up to the level of maneuvers you have access to, but you can prepare only one stance of your maximum level. You must meet a stances’s prerequisite to prepare it. The stances neither require inspiration points, nor are expended when used. You may only enter one stance at any given time.

Maneuvers and stances are considered Ex or Su abilities, depending on the ability mimicked, and require the same action to initiate them normally; see the maneuver entries for details

You must meet a maneuver’s prerequisite to prepare it.

Cunning Transposition (Ex): Factotums are legendary for their flexibilty, versatility, and for allways having the right tool to overcome a problem. As the saying goes, be prepared! At 5th level you gain the ability to exchange your maneuvers for others you choose.

Three times per day at 5th level, you may utilize a swift action to exchange one factotum maneuver or stance you can access using your Martial Dilettante ability for another. If you exchange an expended maneuver, the new maneuver wiill be expended as well. (You will need to recover it) If you exchange stances, you may immediately enter that stance as part of this ability. You gain an additional use of this ability at 10th level and every 5 class levels thereafter.

You must meet a maneuver’s prerequisite to exchange it.

Cunning Circumvention (Ex): Starting at 11th level, your broad knowledge allows you to study an opponent and gain a brief flash of insight to breach her defenses. By spending an inspiration point as a free action, you can ignore a single target's damage reduction, or a single object's hardness for 1 round.
