Upon casting this spell, you draw meteors from above to strike at your target. Initially, four meteoric mortar shots will be fired and will land in the spell's range. Unlike a normal spell, you do not need line of effect to target an area as long as you have line of sight. You may have the mortar shot land anywhere in the spell range, even aiming them at the same square. However, multiple meteoric mortar shots' damage overlap; they do not stack. Thus, it's useless to aim it all at one creature except to force it to make multiple saves and destroy cover.

After the initial casting, you can continue concentrating on the spell to drop more mortars; the number of mortar shots depend on the action used for concentration. You may concentrate on the spell as a swift action for a single meteoric mortar shot, as a move action for two, as a standard action for 3, or as a full-round action for 4. It is possible to concentrate both with a swift action and another action, but not other combinations of actions.

Each mortar shot strikes extremely hard, dealing 10d6 bludgeoning damage and 1d8 fire damage per two caster level to all creatures caught in its radius and causing all creatures within its radius to fall prone. A mortar shot deals 10 extra bludgeoning damage per caster level to all terrain, buildings, and unattended objects. The meteoric mortar shots leave difficult terrain in their wake. Creatures caught in the radius are allowed a reflex save to halve the fire damage, but not the bludgeoning damage; a successful saving throw also prevents the creature from being knocked prone.
