Modest Strike [Prowess] Only after he had left the busy market, did the senator notice his fatal wound.Prerequisites: Legerdemain 7+, Quick DrawBenefit: As part of an melee attack against a flatfooted opponent, you may make a legerdemain check to conceal your attack. Treat this as conceal action, opposed as normal by the perception of relevant onlookers and modified by the size of the weapon, with the following exceptions. First, the target of the attack is treated as if actively standing guard, thereby being treated as "taking 10" on their perception roll. Second, whether or not the target notices the blow, its effects are delayed for 1d4 rounds, during which time the target feels no pain and takes no damage; after this period, the results of the attack are resolved as normal. If the target notices the injury before this period is up, they automatically known how much damage it will do, as well as what additional effects, if any, the attack will have, and can prepare accordingly. During this time-frame, any healing in excess of the targets ordinary hit point maximum preemptively cancels an equal amount of damage from the upcoming attack, possibly negating the attack if its damage would be reduced to less than zero.
