Perpetual[edit]

Usually the result of unspeakable rituals, successfully messing with primal universal equations, or the blessing of a powerful entity. A perpetual is immortal, their body only a single aspect of their beings. Upon death they do not leave a body behind, vanishing into the ether, before reforming mostly unharmed. A perpetual is unaging, regrows limbs and is truly difficult to put down or seal away. As unique creature, each perpetual is different in how they are finally defeated.

Creating a Perpetual[edit]

“Perpetual” is an acquired or inherent template that can be added to any creature with class levels (referred to hereafter as the base creature).

Ability Scores: Same as the base creature.

Size and Type: Same as the base creature.

Feat: Same as the base creature.

Skills: Same as the base creature.

Saving Throw: Same as the base creature.

Special Attacks: Same as the base creature.

Special Qualities: A perpetual has the following special qualities:

Eternal Cycle (Ex): A perpetual cannot be killed in any conventional manners. Upon being killed they are immediately completely disintegrated alongside any equipment they possess, leaving only artifacts in their wake. They reform either at the place they were killed with the same function as resurrection after 1 minute, or to any location of their choosing with the same function as raise dead after 24 hours. A perpetual must be aware of the location they wish to be transported to, it does not need to be in the same plane. If left unable to act for at least 8 hours, such as being petrified or held in stasis, eternal cycle automatically triggers. A perpetual can also trigger Eternal Cycle as a free action.

A perpetual, much like a major artifact, can be killed by a very specific method unique to them. Alternatively a certain set of circumstances may prevent them from triggering their Eternal Cycle ability, allowing them to be sealed forever.

Immortal (Ex): A perpetual does not age and is immune to any effect which would artificially age their. A perpetual cannot suffer permanent level loss from negative level and automatically cure 1 negative level each hour, including the one inflicted by their Eternal Cycle ability.

Regrowth (Ex): A perpetual possesses Fast Healing equal to half their character level. If a perpetual loses a limb or body part except their head, the lost portion regrows in 1d4 rounds. The perpetual can reattach the severed member instantly by holding it to the stump. If their head is severed the body fall over, and the head remain conscious but effectively paralyzed (bypassing immunities) until she can regrow their body. Typically upon having their head severed, a perpetual will trigger their Eternal Cycle ability.
