Phantasmal Existence
Illusion (Phantasm) [Mind-Affecting]
Level: Psychic 9
Components: V, S
Casting time: 1 Standard Action
Range: Personal
Target: Self
Duration: 1 + 1 round/10 caster level
Saving Throw: Will negates (see text)
Spell Resistance: No

This powerful defensive illusion turns the caster into an illusion for its duration. As an illusion the caster is unable to interact with much of the physical world, but must follow her own personal limitations (such as her speed, abilities and whatnot). The caster cannot interact with physical objects, and she may pass through physical barriers as if she was incorporeal. The caster may still attack non-mindless creatures, but any attacks or effect produced by her grants a Will save to negate the attack. This also applies to any non-illusion spells, spell-like or supernatural ability produced by the caster. The caster is damaged and affected normally by all effects, and treats any [Shadow] spell that affects her as 100% real.

The caster is translucent when viewed by a creature under the effect of the true seeing spell, the only hints to the real nature of the spell. When the spell ends, its true power becomes apparent. The caster returns to their physical form as before they cast the spells, removing any damage or effect they fell under during the spell's duration. This happens even if the caster is slain, her body vanishes before reappearing just as it was before the casting when the spell ends. The caster only retains damage dealt by a mind-affecting effect as non-lethal damage. If the caster was slain by a mind-affecting spell, she reappears dying. Any resources expended by the caster, such as spell slots, items and whatnot are still expended as normal.

This spell is not without risk, if the caster is slain during the casting (such as by a readied action), her mind is sent to a realm of illusion, much like a microcosm while her body is slain as normal. Even if raised from the dead, the body would be left comatose. A freedom spell can then free the mind of the caster allowing her to be raised from the dead as normal or restore her raised body back to consciousness.
