Pheromone Gland[edit]

Pheromone gland grafts cover a group of organ structures and are generally a pair of small nodules grafted internally at either the base of the neck or base of the spine where they produce their pheromones that permeate the body and diffuse through the skin as a mild scent.

These glands are taken from and work for specific creatures of the following creature types: aberration, animal, fey, magical beast and vermin. The specific creature (such as an ettercap or giant praying mantis) treats the grafted creature (so long as the grafted creature can be smelled) as a member of its own kind, typically defaulting to indifferent for mindless creatures and creatures of Intelligence 1–2. For creatures with 3 Intelligence and higher, their initial attitudes toward the grafted creature is 1 step higher to a maximum of friendly. Creatures without scent can detect the pheromones in the grafted creature's space and adjacent spaces.

A grafted creature can use the Diplomacy skill to influence the attitude of creatures of their gland's kind, regardless of the creature's Intelligence. Such checks take 1 minute.

Creatures that do not have a sense of smell do not have pheromone glands.

Graft Flesh (Any), charm monster; Price 1,000 gp.
