Pictograph[edit]

The rogue stepped into the painting and waiting for his target to approach, unseen yet in plain sight.

Your armor permits you to press against any unattended surface large enough to hold you (typically 5 ft x 5 ft) and flatten into an illustration or engraving of yourself along the wall in whatever style you fit, or whatever is appropriate for the surroundings. When against the wall you can move along unbroken surfaces of sufficient size with no more difficulty than walking, and you benefit from the hardness of the material you are in (but no other properties of the material). You cannot enter materials made of force or are not corporeal. However, you can still be the target of attacks and spells, and your own attacks and spells do not extend beyond 5 ft or your reach, whichever is farther. While in the wall, a Disguise or Hide check can effectively hide you among other illustrations or engravings. Entering or leaving a surface is a move action.

If the surface you're on takes enough damage to destroy 1 inch of it, you are ejected with an additional 3d6 backlash damage. An erase spell also ejects you.

While you are flattened, you do not trigger symbols and other rune-based traps. If you are capable of disarming such magical traps you may do so as a flattened illustration.

In addition, you have six studs along your armor allowing you to flatten and absorb objects for quick access and retrieval. It is the effect of shrink item which places the item in one of the studs with the item engraved upon it, and may be drawn back out as a move action (or free action with Quick Draw). You can choose to swap one item in a full stud with another with the same move action.

Moderate Transmutation; CL 7th; Craft Magic Arms and Armor, shrink item; Price: +3.
