Retraining Collar
Your abilities always were unstable and volatile, as a result a collar was made for you. It is bulky and uncomfortable, but allows you to use your abilities safely… as long as you remember to activate it.
Prerequisite: Must have spells or powers.
Effect: You have a bulky collar which allows you to use your powers safely. The restraining collar is heavy, weighing 5 lbs and forcing a -1 armor check penalty which stacks with armor. The collar occupies the neck slot but can be enhanced as a magic item. If removed or deactivated, you suffer a 15% failure on all your spells and powers. Upon failing to cast a spell or power this way you become confused for 1 round and take 1 point of non-lethal damage per HD. This failure chance cannot be reduced, applies to every spell and powers and stack with arcane spell failure from armor.
You must activate your collar as a move action, it is automatically deactivated at the end of your next turn.
Benefit: A Moderate bonus feat or lower for which you meet the prerequisites.
Special: If your collar is lost or destroyed, it can be replaced through 24 hours of work and 100 GP of material.
