1. See Damage Increases by Size to calculate the damage for a weapon larger than Medium or smaller than Small.
2. Weight figures are for Medium weapons. A Small weapon weighs half as much, and a Large weapon weighs twice as much.
3. When two types are given, the weapon is both types if the entry specifies "and", either type (player's choice at time of attack) if the entry specifies "or", or each end of the double weapon is a different type if the entry specifies "/".
4. The hp value given is for Medium armor, weapons, and shields. Divide by 2 for each size category of the item smaller than Medium, or multiply it by 2 for each size category larger than Medium.


Something of a small blunderbuss, this pistol is designed specifically to fire balls of rock salt (effectively using sling bullets as ammo). Only dangerous at close range and a "non-lethal" weapon at mid-range, the rock salt pistol produces painful burning wounds that can render opponents disrupted long enough to make a precise attack. Attacks within twice your normal reach (usually 10 ft) deal lethal damage, and anything beyond deals non-lethal damage. The shots count as area effects for the purpose of interacting with things such as swarms.

Rock salt pistols may be used as martial weapons. However those with the appropriate Exotic Weapon Proficiency have additional options. Those stuck with an attack from a rock salt pistol are denied their Dexterity for 1 round or until struck by a second attack, whichever comes first. In addition you threaten out to your lethal range and may make attacks of opportunity with the gun. Lastly, you do not provoke for firing the gun in melee.

Creatures immune to pain are immune to having their Dexterity denied by this weapon's attacks. Because of its spread, you cannot deal precision damage with the rock salt pistol.

Rock salt pistols hold a stock of 8 ammo at a time and are reloaded as a move action, or a free action with the appropriate Exotic Weapon Proficiency. Reloading the ammo case is a standard action (or a move action with proficiency).
